AMAGGI, one of the largest agribusiness companies in Latin America, took a strategic step towards innovation by migrating its SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA. With a highly integrated operation and approximately 6 TB of data, the company needed a secure, efficient, and scalable solution to support its growth and the challenges of tax reform.
The project was led by Mignow in partnership with AWS, using the Brownfield with RISE with SAP. Mignow's solution, based on Artificial Intelligence, automated 99% of the custom code conversion, correcting over 26 thousand objects automatically, leaving only 267 for manual correction and ensuring a secure journey, with low risk and a duration of just 6.4 months, a highly competitive timeframe given the complexity of the environment.
“We were motivated by the company's growth needs; we needed a modern tool that would support business growth and meet the new challenges of tax reform, which will significantly impact agribusiness companies,” says Wagner Biasi, AMAGGI's CIO, at an event promoted by SAP itself and in partnership with Mignow, the SAP Business Campus.
Security, stability, and innovation at the heart of the strategy
The choice of the cloud environment and the RISE framework was not merely technical. It reflected real concerns about stability, security, and business continuity.
“Rise is a much more secure environment; few people talk about it, but this issue was one of the main motivators for choosing the cloud project, in addition to being a much more stable product than ECC,” the executive comments.
A decisive factor in the adoption of RISE with SAP was the choice of hyperscaler, in AMAGGI's case, AWS. According to Paulo Secco, Mignow's CEO, “the partnership with AWS enables us to provide unparalleled migration solutions, combining our AI expertise with the reliability and scalability of AWS cloud services”.
AWS is a pioneer in offering cloud solutions for SAP systems, bringing innovation to the market, especially by expanding its operations in Latin America. In this regard, the partnership between Mignow and AWS was decisive for the success of AMAGGI's migration project. “This collaboration brought us numerous commercial and technical benefits, allowing us to optimize our processes and improve operational efficiency. With Mignow's automated and innovative SAP conversion combined with AWS's advanced infrastructure, we were able to accelerate our digital transformation, reduce costs, and increase agility in our operations. This strategic alliance provides us with a significant competitive advantage in the market, in addition to helping us offer superior quality service to our customers,” said Wagner Biasi – AMAGGI CIO.
Technical challenges
Ultimately, the combination of Mignow's platform, AWS's infrastructure, and AMAGGI's strategic vision resulted in an efficient, secure delivery with positive impacts already noticeable in daily operations.
“This collaboration brought us numerous commercial and technical benefits [...] it is a strategic alliance that provides us with a significant competitive advantage in the market,” concludes Wagner Biasi.
Among the SAP modules involved in the project were FI, AA, CO, CM, LES-TRA, SD, MM, PP, PM, QM, HR and REBATE (MM/SD), essential areas for the operation of AMAGGI's agricultural, industrial, and logistics operations.
“When we combine automation, cloud, and strategy, we can transform not only systems but also the pace of innovation for companies. AMAGGI is an excellent example of how technology can concretely and scalably drive agribusiness,” highlights Guilherme Joventino, Mignow's COO.
